Why A Squeeze Page Is Probably Losing You Subscribers

August 28th, 2007 | by Matthew Glanfield |

Alright, it’s time to set things straight.

I hear all sorts of nonsense about the use of squeeze pages, and the inconsistent training that is out there has actually decreased their overall effectiveness.

In fact, most people are wasting their time with squeeze pages, simply because they don’t use them properly.

I have access to a lot of statistics because we run our YSP service, so now it is time to set the record straight.

Watch this video to see what I mean:

    Hey Matthew,

Great training video — it simply does not matter all the crazy things you try to do on your squeeze page if it does not convert.

In my first month online, I would spend literally days on just one squeeze page. I put just about every kind of media I knew how to,

but in the end it was when I decided to just remove all the extra junk I had on there (to test because my opt-in rate was poor),

that I went from being in the hole with my Adwords traffic, to actually profiting from my investment in Adwords.

And I didn’t even have tracking for anything yet. It would have been nice to have had the YourSqueezePage software back then to take care of it all for me!

    Hi, Matthew,

Thanks for another great training video. Hearing about optin rates provides a benchmark and with things changing so rapidly, it helps to have some guidelines. Looking forward to YSP v3.0.

    Hey Matthew!

Great video on the ‘mechanics’ of running a squeeze page. Sometimes it can pay to go back to the good old basics of creating hyper effective squeeze pages.

    Hi Matthew,

Great information. Especially the information on how important it is to track all the different parts of the squeeze page.

Thanks for the reminder, it is hard to improve your conversion rates, when you don’t track anything.

    Hi Matthew!

Great information, your putting out there! Getting traffic and being able to track it is the most sensitive issue for any squeeze page! I hope you provide us with more guidance on which elements we should focus on!

Awesome training. I am obsessed with tracking. It’s about “results” and you cannot improve what you don’t measure.

    Hi Matt,

Thanks for sharing all this info for free!

I am rather new to most of it, like tracking traffic and stuff, so I will keep my eyes open for your next videos!

    Thanks again and take care,

FINALLY! Someone who takes the hype and “follow me to instant riches” out of the squeeze page and actually gives solid advice.

A breath of fresh air! Info with out solid substance and a concrete foundation is just electronic noise. You’ve made it to my “must read” email list - and that’s a very small list indeed.

I’m impressed. I thought I knew a lot about squeeze pages but this video showed me otherwise! Excellent resource here without all the guru hype.

Thanks for the great information… As far as squeeze pages go I do not like them. I would rather see the website right away instead of having to fill out the info they require.

Thanks, Matthew, for the wonderful insight. For someone like me, who is still so new to internet marketing, this type of training information is invaluable.

Rather than the same generalized review that so many others seem to be putting out, you add enough detail to give me the guidance needed to focus on more specific areas.

I look forward to more of your videos. I know they will really help my “learning curve” as my experience as an internet marketer grows.

Please reopen the 2.0 affiliate pages til the 3.0 is ready…

I’m sure a simple script will be able to convert 2.0 to 3.0 once it’s ready…there are sales to be made in the meantime…
